Week 1 RECAP…
Wow! What an opening week! I am actually really surprised by how well KitaBita’s Picks turned out this week. Not that I’m getting my hopes up too high or anything, I am hopeful that Season 2 will be much better than Season 1 for KitaBita’s Picks. Either way, I will take 87.5% any week!
Now, let’s get into KitaBita’s specifics for Week 1…
Quarterback of the Week: Josh Allen
KitaBita’s QB of Week 1 Award would have gone to Tyler Shough from the Saints, but they lost. So, I had to give it to the Bill’s Josh Allen. I have always liked him and he keeps proving why - consistency is key. He threw for nearly 350 yards with 69% accuracy, 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. I will take it!
Offense of the Week: Buffalo Bills
If I go by points scored alone, it would go to the Bears without any further thought, since they scored 59 points. However, scoring 59 points against the worst defense in NFL doesn’t necessarily make you special - in my humble opinion, of course. So, instead, this week’s Offense of the week goes to the Bills who scored 36 points and had 420 total offensive yards against the Colts (the team with the second worst defense). Hey, it’s not an exact science… 🤭
Defense of the Week: Minnesota Vikings
Let’s hear it for the Vikings! Holding the Packers 66 yards rushing, sacking Love 4 times, causing him to fumble twice, and an interception is a GREAT accomplishment, especially when your defense is ranked 28th in the league.
Game of the Week: Bears vs. Panthers
I gotta give it to the Caleb Williams and the Bears breaking the 46-year franchise record for most points scored in a game. Pretty exciting to see a record broken that had been in place since before I was born!
Overall, a GREAT opening week! Looking forward to see what Week 2 holds.
