Week 6 RECAP
In my honest opinion, Week 6 was filled with a bunch of games that could have gone either way. Nevertheless, KitaBita’s Picks finished right at 50%. Not too good, not too bad, I guess. 🤷🏽♀️
My most significant ❌ this week was the Jaguars loss to the Texans. The Jaguars entered the game at 4-1, while the Texans were 1-4. I know they say “Any Given Sunday” but I thought for sure the Jags would win at home. Joke’s on me…
And as a Commanders fan, I feel I must mention that, once again, not a single team from the NFC East won a game, causing me another 2 ❌’s. Go figure!

Now, let’s get down to business with KitaBita’s specifics for Week 6…
Quarterback of the Week: Caleb Williams
This week’s QB of the week goes to none other than Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears. After missing three games due to injury, Williams returned with high efficiency (305 passing yards and an 83.33% completion percentage even after being sacked 4 times by 4 different Falcons) and led the Bears to a 31-23 victory over the Falcons. 👏🏾👏🏾
Offense of the Week: Houston Texans
Even though Texans’ QB C. J. Stroud threw an interception late in the game, the Texans were able to defeat the Jaguars 34-31 by putting up 426 yards of total offense. I credit the offensive line since Stroud was not sacked at all and had time to complete just over 70% of his passes. Great job Texans!
Defense of the Week: Kansas City Chiefs
I guess it’s fair to say that the Chiefs came back well-rested and focused after their bye week. The defense held the Chargers to only 254 yards of total offense, with 4 sacks, an interception, and a forced fumble and recovery. And yes, I know the Chargers haven’t been anything to write home about so far this season, but good defense is good defense. The Chiefs remain undefeated, while the Chargers remain winless. 🤷🏽♀️
Game of the Week: Buffalo Bills vs. Las Vegas Raiders
First and foremost, let’s talk about how the Bills having one player ejected and another suspended because of spitting at the Raiders’ players. What in the world is that about?!? 🤮 Now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk about the game…Surprisingly, just about everything about this game except the final score says the Raiders should have won the game - total offensive yards (Bills - 358 vs. Raiders - 378), sacks (Bills - 0 vs. Raiders - 2), and penalties (Bills - 8 for 77 yards vs. Raiders - 7 for 62 yards). So, what really made the difference? Maybe it was the interception thrown by the Raiders’ Kirk Cousins in the 3rd quarter that led to a Bills touchdown. Or maybe it was the Raiders’ being forced to punt in the 4th quarter that led to a Bills’ field goal, putting the Bills up by 10 points late in the game.
No matter what the exact reason was, are the Raiders putting the world on notice that they shouldn’t be overlooked? I think so! With the Raiders sitting right at 3-3 after 6 games, and the likelihood of winning their next two scheduled games, I know I will be paying closer attention, especially the way this season is unfolding with upset after upset.
Primetime with KitaBita: TNF, SNF, or MNF?
Not-so-Fun fact: I have not gotten a ✅ on TNF since week 2. This must change. Starting every week with a ❌ is extremely upsetting.
Anyway, this week, KitaBita’s Primetime Pick is Monday Night Football just because my Commanders played. I was locked all the way in. Of course, we didn’t get the victory but we gave the 49ers (now 6-0 😒) a run for their money in the second half. My Commanders stepped up their defense causing the 49ers to punt three times in 4th quarter. Of course , it was too little too late, but at least MNF wasn’t wasted on a complete blowout - the way I originally thought it was going to be. Anyway, on to another week, and another Primetime with KitaBita.
Thanks to all my loyal readers! Is there anything else you would like to see from these weekly recaps?? Tell me and I just might make it happen. Oh, and don’t forget to comment, subscribe, and share!
