Week 5 RECAP

So, this week my record for KitaBita’s Picks was 9-5-1. I only mentioned it this way because whoever goes to the playoffs from the NFC East will likely have a worse record than mine this week. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I know I shouldn’t talk about my division like that, but I speak nothing but the truth. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way. As I saw on Facebook, “No one in the whole division won, and two of them played each other.” 🤣🤣 Sad, but hilarious, and as the picture below indicates, my brain hurts… Long season ahead for the NFC East. 

Now let’s get to the rest of KitaBita’s Picks for week 5 - overall percentage finally trending back in the right direction. In my opinion, my favorite ❌ is the Dallas loss to Tampa Bay. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the Cowboys lose 🥳 and yet, I still had faith that they would win. Oh well. Better luck next week. Or not 🤭. Congrats to the Bucks on their first win of the season! 🥳

Quarterback of the Week: Drake Maye 

This week’s QB of the Week goes to Drake Maye of the New England Patriots. On top of having 75 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown, he also collected 374 passing yards with 4 passing touchdowns. After what I said in my Week 1 Recap, I Maye owe him an apology . Prolly won’t happen, but hey, it’s the thought that counts… Good job, Drake Maye! 

Offense of the Week: New England Patriots

Best offense this week has to go the Patriots who put up 45 points against the Raiders. With 539 yards of total offense (374 passing and 165 rushing), Drake Maye and the Patriots made the best use of the clock and controlled the game from the very beginning. 

Defense of the Week: Green Bay Packers

The Packers defense pleasantly surprised me a little bit this week. With 4 sacks and 3 interceptions, and giving up less than 300 total offensive yards in their win against the Bears, I can’t think of any defense more deserving of best defense this week. If their defense continues to play like this consistently, the Packers may be someone to look out for.

Game of the Week: Eagles vs. Jaguars

So much excitement - until literally the final second! Imagine being an Eagles fan excited that you won by 1 point, just to see the Jaguars kicker make a long field goal after a phenomenal wkick return of over 50 yards. Yep, you guessed it - FLABBERGASTED! The funniest thing about this is that my 17-yr-old-confused-ass-Eagles-fan son had the nerve to ask me for advice on sticking with a bad team. 🤣🤣🤣 Very disrespectful. All I could do was laugh and say just pray and wait for things to turn around. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Primetime with KitaBita: TNF, SNF, or MNF?

This week, KitaBita’s Primetime Pick is Monday Night Football. One of three OT games this week, watching the exciting end to the Bills and the Raiders game was a perfect ending to Week 5 - and not just because KitaBita’s Picks included a win for the Bills. The game was stressful from start to finish with 6 lead changes, 2 turnovers, and 24 penalties.
