Week 3 RECAP

Week 3 RECAP

Someone wise once said, “Start with the end in mind.” Welp, I intend to do just that. In conclusion, Week 3 was a success for KitaBita because four things are true:

  1. My Commanders WON!
  2. The Cowboys LOST!
  3. The Eagles LOST!
  4. The Seahawks LOST!

The end… 🤣🤣🤣

But seriously, the most shocking of all my ❌ this week is the fact that Washington went out there with a back up quarterback and beat the defending Superbowl champion Seahawks. I mean, I am a die hard Commanders fan, but I am also smart. I would have had to been out my mind to pick US over THEM.

Of course, our win over the Seahawks wasn’t the only ❌ for KitaBita’s Picks this week. But I learned, or should I say relearned, a very valuable lesson - stop second guessing myself. Three of my ❌’s were only a ❌ because I second-guessed myself and changed them at the last minute: the Giants, the Browns, and the Raiders. But hey, all three teams have been questionable in many seasons in recent history.

I finished this week at 8-8. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Quarterback of the Week: Brock Purdy (49ers)

KitaBita’s QB of Week 3 is the San Francisco 49ers’ Brock Purdy. His 297 yards passing, 4 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions touchdowns led the 49ers to a 36-30 victory over the Cardinals. Great job!

Offense of the Week: Atlanta Falcons

I was quite surprised to see that the Falcons put 500 total offensive yards against Green Bay, who typically has a formidable defense. Nevertheless, the Falcons, led by Michael Penix, Jr., scored 35 points and got their first win of the season.

Defense of the Week: Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings defense had 2 interceptions and 6 sacks and was able to hold the Buccaneers to just 1 touchdown and three field goals. The attacks of the quarterback came from all over the field with 7 different players having a whole or partial sack. The game ended in a Vikings victory 23-16.

Game of the Week: Commanders vs Seahawks

There’s soooo much to be said about my Commanders’ shocking defeat of the Seahawks. First and foremost, WOW! Washington played with a second-string quarterback and scored 33 points against what is arguably the best defense in the league. Then, to top that, the Commanders defense caused two fumbles, recovering one, and got two interceptions, one of which was a pick 6. Again, I was flabbergasted. Maybe that’s my word for the season, LOL. Anyway, great game Washington!

Oh, and shoutout to the Commanders for giving me bragging rights, even if just for a moment, since Lumpy’s team (Seahawks) AND Junior’s team (Eagles) BOTH TOOK L’s this week! 🥳🤷🏽‍♀️🤣

For Week 4, I am looking forward to my Commanders taking on the Colts in London. I really wish I could be there in person, but I will settle for my living room in front of the TV with my coffee ready to cheer them on at 9:30am Sunday. What are you looking forward to most for Week 4?
